Question 1

What can I add to ReputaPilot’s blocklist monitor?

Accepted Answer

You can add sending domains and IP addresses as watched assets. The scheduled monitor checks those assets against its supported blocklist sources and records listing and delisting changes. Domain and IP checks can cover different sources because each source supports particular asset types. This feature monitors blocklist results; it is not an inbox placement test or a complete measure of sender reputation.

Question 2

Is blocklist monitoring useful for cold outreach, growth, and transactional email?

Accepted Answer

It can help any of these teams keep track of the sending domains or IPs they choose to watch. Cold outreach teams can keep each sending asset visible, growth marketers can monitor the assets used by their campaigns, and transactional email teams can watch the assets used for product mail. ReputaPilot reports blocklist observations for those assets; it does not inspect campaign content, recipient engagement, or mailbox placement.

Question 3

What does a result from an individual provider or list mean?

Accepted Answer

Each result belongs to a specific supported blocklist source. Listed means that lookup reported the watched asset on that source. Clear means the lookup completed and did not report a listing there. These are source-level observations, not decisions from Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or another mailbox provider, and results can differ between sources.

Question 4

What if a lookup is unavailable or inconclusive?

Accepted Answer

Unavailable or inconclusive means the lookup did not produce a reliable clear-or-listed result. It is not a clean result. A combined monitor view can be partial or unavailable when some sources return results and others do not. Review the source status or run a new check when you need another observation.

Question 5

Where can I revisit saved checks and blocklist history?

Accepted Answer

Open a watched asset in the dashboard to select its saved manual checks and review the provider or list results from each run. The blocklist history area separately records listing and delisting events for watched assets. The app does not state a fixed retention period, so this FAQ makes no promise about how long a particular record remains available.

Question 6

Can I compare provider results across checks?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On a watched asset’s saved-check detail, choose another saved check for that same asset. ReputaPilot compares the per-source outcomes across those runs, showing whether comparable clear or listed results stayed the same, became newly listed, or cleared. Inconclusive or missing results remain distinct instead of being treated as clear.

Question 7

What happens when I rerun a saved check?

Accepted Answer

A rerun starts a fresh provider check for the same watched asset and saves it as a separate observation. It does not replace the earlier check. Source results may change between runs, and a source may still return an unavailable or inconclusive result.

Question 8

Does a clear result guarantee inbox placement, or can ReputaPilot remove a listing?

Accepted Answer

No. A clear result only reports what a particular lookup observed for a watched asset at that time. Mailbox providers make their own delivery and placement decisions, and removal from a blocklist follows that source’s process. ReputaPilot reports monitoring observations; it does not guarantee inbox placement, a provider decision, or upstream delisting.

Question 9

What should I do if my sending domain or IP is listed?

Accepted Answer

First confirm which operator reported the listing and review its explanation. Then identify and fix the underlying cause before requesting removal: investigate authentication, infrastructure, list acquisition and hygiene, compromised accounts or hosts, and other abuse signals relevant to the source. Pause or restrict the affected sending where appropriate, preserve the details needed for review, and use the listed operator’s own delisting process. A listing is a source-specific observation, not proof that every mailbox provider will make the same decision.

Question 10

Which sender-controlled issues should I remediate before requesting delisting?

Accepted Answer

Strengthen the controls that apply to the incident: implement or correct SPF, DKIM, and DMARC; configure reverse DNS and a fully qualified HELO/EHLO name; process bounces; and use outbound malware and spam filtering. Review opt-in and anti-bot protections, remove purchased or appended addresses, avoid sending to old or inactive recipients, and respond promptly to abuse reports. The right fixes depend on the operator’s evidence and the cause of the listing, so this is a remediation checklist rather than a universal pass condition.

Question 11

What should I monitor while correcting the problem?

Accepted Answer

Monitor bounces, complaints, abuse reports, mailbox-provider status codes, and changes in sending or customer activity where those signals are available. Review whether bounce handling, list hygiene, authentication, and abuse response are improving after the change. Spamhaus guidance highlights these kinds of signals, while DNSWL guidance emphasizes responsible, responsive handling of abuse on the network. Monitoring helps document remediation; it does not replace the operator’s review.

Question 12

How do I submit a delisting request?

Accepted Answer

Use the operator’s own lookup or delisting workflow and submit complete, accurate information about the affected domain or IP and the corrective action taken. For example, Spamhaus directs senders to its IP and Domain Reputation Checker; Barracuda asks for valid contact details and an explanation and says repeated requests may be ignored; Abusix uses its Lookup and Delisting flow; and SURBL directs senders to its lookup and removal form. Mailspike may require evidence that a malware-related threat was mitigated. These examples are operator-specific procedures, not one universal form or checklist.

Question 13

Who verifies the fix and decides whether a listing is removed?

Accepted Answer

The blocklist operator controls verification, the removal decision, and the timing. Sender actions can correct the conditions that led to a listing and provide evidence through the operator’s process, but they do not compel removal. Spamhaus, Barracuda, Abusix, DNSWL, SURBL, and Mailspike each apply their own evidence, trust, abuse-response, and operational criteria; the appropriate process can differ by source.

Question 14

Does remediation guarantee delisting or restored inbox placement?

Accepted Answer

No. Fixing the underlying issue and submitting complete information may improve the basis for an operator review, but it does not guarantee delisting, removal, a particular review time, or restored inbox placement. An operator may request more information, reduce trust, leave a listing in place, or list the asset again if the problematic behavior continues. Mailbox providers separately make their own delivery and placement decisions.
